I came here to do my second servicing according to the maintenance manual. Previously had servicing done at Murray Hyundai but I moved to Chilliwack recently so White Rock was too far to go for service.Very positive experience here! It was easy to book, estimation/billing was accurate and everything was well explained by the very knowledgeable service assistant (I booked with Anzah Hasan). All my additional questions and requests were acknowledged and tended to quite satisfactorily.I also quite enjoyed the text updates, online portal where you could check the current status and the ability to pay online. This meant I felt fully informed at all times about the progress and it was easy to plan my day around the appointment.The shuttle driver was delightful as well!
I was driving through the canyon and my Tucson broke down between Lytton and Cash Creek on the highway, A tow truck was coming. It wouldn’t be there for a couple hours so I phoned service department at Chilliwack Hyundai and asked if I could have my vehicle towed there which wouldn’t be there til later that day. Service manager, Anzah, explained what to do if no one was there. I was feeling so overwhelmed and distraught. He reassured me everything will be OK and everything was OK , thank you Anzah for your kind words. I went there the next day got a courtesy car. Just had an amazing service experience on my 2022 Veloster type N at this dealership. Horn stopped working so hit them up for some help. The service advisor, William, definitely went above and beyond for me. Had a shuttle for me within a couple of minutes to drop me off wherever I needed to go, while I waited for my car. I received regular text updates regarding their progress. He also discovered a service bulletin I did not know about and took care of that for me, also. Picked up my car in about an hour and everything was under warranty. For this short service they also washed and vacuumed my car. 😲Thanks William!*NOTE: I have also dealt with Anzah at the service counter numerous times for information, advice and maintenance parts. (filters, injector cleaner etc.) Always a pleasure to deal with him too.

Bannister Hyundai is the best! I went for a new set of tires installation at another tire shop and they said I needed brakes done soon so I got a quote and left. I chose Bannister Hyundai because I wanted a second opinion! And wow did they deliver good news I didn't need new brakes yet! I still have life left in them. At least until the winter season. I'll be back for sure because of the service I received today was top notch!

I LOVE that they really are 'Customer' focused in their customer service. They have a courtesy shuttle to take you back home while you wait for your vehicle to be serviced, and will pick you up again when it's ready. AND they washed it and vacuumed it out as well!! Bonus!!👍👍 They don't have the part available that I need at this time, but they DID give me all the information I need to see if I can track it down myself through my contacts. They also assured me that the warning light on the dash doesn't pose a potential danger or safety threat, but should be attended to. Thanks for the reassurance, Bannister Group! It *IS* appreciated!

My experience with the sales and finance team here was the worst I have ever experienced with any car purchase ever. They pushed me to sign all my papers while the original sales person was away, so the things I had asked for were ignored. When asking for a solution to their mistake they offered for me to spend another $1200 with them. They also tried to sell me a vehicle with a faulty transmission that I had to tell them was faulty.I also have not received my bill of sale or any of my loan documents that I've been asking for. It's been a month!

If all Service Advisors & staff @ Mertin Hyundai are as knowledgeable as (24582 Brent Murray), that would be a good thing. My 2017 Hyundai Tucson was taken in for a Recall 11D021R5 KSDS UPGRADE. After the upgrade was performed I was approached by Brent to see if I wanted to get my car vacuumed & if I did, I would have to wait approx 20-30 mins. I opted to have my car vacuumed & the work was well done. When my car was ready, Brent Murray explained in full what the update was. I just was not satisfied to get the update/upgrade done & drive away. I needed to know why there was an upgrade & with Brent’s expertise in knowing what makes a vehicle “tick” he explained fully on WHY there was a recall & what to be aware of in the future. Owning vehicles in the 50’s, I’m well aware what an “engine knock or loud tappers” sound like, I appreciated Brent’s explanation. Thanks for the Trixie’s car wash.

We purchased a used Hyundai Elantra from Mertin Hyundai on Friday, Aug. 14th and this was one of the most positive experiences we've ever had with a car dealership and sales person. We were first greeted in the sales lot by Nick Spencer who was friendly, welcoming and courteous, yet very professional at the same time. From the beginning it was obvious his main interest was that we choose the right car for us out of all those available.
Nick was knowledgeable about each car we looked at, patiently answered all our questions, and never once applied any pressure to buy anything. We told him later we'd like to go home and think about our selections that interested us and he was very obliging and understanding, inviting us to come back and test drive a couple of the vehicles the next day. (most car dealers would be, in my experience, reluctant to let you leave the lot at that point.)
We came back the next day to test drive one of the cars we liked, and with Nick's help, ultimately selected one to purchase. We felt he worked out a very fair deal for us on our old trade-in (our first Hyundai), and from there on the entire process, from transferring insurance to completing all the paperwork by Tanya in the finance department, went smoothly and quickly.
At no time did we ever feel pressure, and it always seemed like Nick's entire focus was that we get the right vehicle for us and within our stated budget. We feel he would go out of his way and do anything to earn our business and our trust, and so we would like to thank Nick (who is now their Sales Manager), Tanya in Finance, and his entire team for giving us this positive experience. We left feeling almost like 'family', and are thrilled with our new Elantra.
We would not hesitate to recommend this dealership to anyone contemplating the purchase of a new, or used car. Our experience with the Hyundai brand has been very positive over the ten years we have owned one, and we look forward to many more years of fun driving with our new one.

I have purchased 2 vehicles (Hyundai's) from a dealership elsewhere in the valley. I twice have had to have my vehicles towed to Mertins, 1st my 2015 Tucson 2nd my 2017 Tucson. Every time I was treated very well.

Had the pleasure of meeting with Matthew in regards to checking out a 2020 Santa Fe. He was very pleasurable and easy going and in a few minutes after handing over my drivers licence we were on our way on a test drive. REALLY impressed with the vehicle and so shortly after coming back he directed me to the head of sales and then onwards to Jon in finance to discuss trade in and terms. As one would expect it takes a bit of time to check on things and get paperwork printed. Once done with the insurance and licensing gal we were back in the finance office to sign the paperwork. Had a few laughs with the staff along the way and the whole process was relaxed and enjoyable. a short time later we were on our way home in our new 2020 Santa Fe! This is our second vehicle from Mertin as we have a 2018 Kona Ultimate that we picked up new. From the service department to sales and the reception staff this is what a dealer should be. A very nice customer lounge just adds to the enjoyment. Matthew called the next day to check on how things were and if we had any questions. Service called the same day and scheduled our appointment for the optional equipment installation. Thanks to everyone for making a car acquisition smooth, relaxed and enjoyable.
I had the pleasure of recently purchasing a 2020 Kona from Mertin Hyundai. My salesperson Edward sold my son and daughter in law a Hyundai previously. He came well recommended and did not disappoint. My entire experience with Edward and the Mertin team was professional, calm and top notch. Edward is an asset to Mertins with his expertise and professional approach. The safety measures implemented for Covid were very reassuring designed for both the team and the customer. This is my 4th car from the Mertin Group , but 1st from Hyundai. I am thrilled with my new ride and would not hesitate to recommend anyone from the team to provide amazing service.

My wife and I bought a new Hyundai "Tucson" last week. It was my wife's dream come through except for the color.She wanted white and I wanted red so we flipped a coin and well, I won but she is very happy anyway. After saying that, I would like to say thank's to all the staff involved including the service department,especially Brent but mostly to the 2 people , Rick Bellavance at sales and Tanya Unger our finaciel adviser. Rick was a very professional person but also with a great sense of humor and Tanya is a very competent and nice lady who knows how to make you feel comfortable . We bought a 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe limited in May and we absolutely love it, we have a big dog and a toddler and it’s very spacious and SO nice!! Service was incredible, there was a tare in the seatbelt and the seat when purchased and they fixed it all free of charge. Everyone we dealt with was so nice and we never ever felt pressured to buy anything. When we had our seat fixed they cleaned the entire vehicle inside and outside. Tanya works in the financial department and she’s so sweet and helpful, all around amazing experience.

I have bought 2 cars now from Jon long at this dealership. Both times it was painless and a great deal. My Ford f150 has been running for over 5 years with no problems.

THE BANNISTER STORY

Lyn Bannister attended the University of Denver on a hockey scholarship where he received his Bachelor of Physical Education, followed by a Master of Education from the University of Minnesota and went on to pursue a ten year career in education and coaching hockey.

With Lyn’s entrepreneurial spirit and a supportive wife, Joanne, Lyn left his education career in 1975. In 1979 they moved to Barrhead, Alberta where they primarily raised their three children, Mark, Chad and Mary-Jo. It was in Barrhead that Lyn and Joanne had the opportunity to purchase the GM store, Lyn Bannister Pontiac Buick, with the financial backing of Motors Holding, a division of General Motors.

In 1990 Lyn and Joanne sold their store in Barrhead and moved to the Okanagan and purchased Bannister GM Vernon.

Starting with a single Pontiac Buick dealership in Barrhead, Alberta, Lyn and Joanne Bannister, along with their children Mark, Chad and Mary-Jo, built a company that now employs over 650 people in two provinces that has had a consistent message: we are a family business with family values.

In 1996 Lyn was honoured with the McLean’s Magazine Dealer of Excellence Award for the province of BC, recognizing the best new car dealers across Canada. Lyn has served on numerous boards in the automotive industry, locally, provincially and nationally.

All three children have taken post-secondary education in business and the automotive industry. Mark and Mary-Jo attended the Canadian Automotive Institute in Barrie, ON and transferred to Northwood University in West Palm Beach, FL for their final year where they obtained their Bachelor of Business Administration, Automotive Marketing. Chad attended Camrose Lutheran College, now Augustana University, where he obtained his Bachelor of Economics, followed by a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta in Edmonton. Upon graduation he enrolled in the three year CA program with KPMG. Both Chad and Mary-Jo have taken the dealer academy training program through NADA. (The US based National Automotive Dealer Association.)

What started out as Lyn and Joanne working in the business for 20 years has truly become a family business.
